Each of our books has one child as the hero. Detail in the builder. Glasses and freckles are options, along with eye shape and colour. Faster options. Its shipping page says books are made and sent within 3 business days, with paid 2-day and next-day shipping on top. We have one delivery option. Range. Many titles and occasions, against our one story. Older children. Its stories run to age 12. Ours is written for 0–6. Where Gli Books is different A builder, however detailed, is still a list. Hooray Heroes does not name its hairstyles on the pages we read, and its own FAQ suggests choosing the lighter option when you are unsure between two hair or skin tones, because screens and printed colours can differ. Ours is drawn from your child's photo, so their skin, their face and the shape of their hair come from the picture rather than from the nearest option. You also see two finished spreads with your own child in them before you pay anything. If it is not right, swap in a clearer photo and we will draw it again. And the setting is a real place: the canopy walkway above the rainforest at Kakum in Ghana, with a grown-up companion whose name and relationship you choose: Auntie, Grandpa, Godmother, Big Sister. For a family with Ghanaian roots it is home. For anyone else it is a real corner of West Africa, with their own child in it. Which to choose Choose Hooray Heroes for two children in one book, a pet, a parent, or paid express delivery. Choose Hooray Heroes if its builder already has your child's hairstyle. Choose Gli Books if your child is not on anybody's list, or you want the story set in Ghana and want to see pages with your own child in them before paying. Can Hooray Heroes do Black hairstyles? Its builder has hairstyle and colour options, but the pages we read do not list the styles, so look for your child's before you buy. A photo-based book such as Gli Books draws the hair from the photo instead. Can I put two children in a Gli Books book? Not in the same book. Each child gets their own book, and if you order several together you pay delivery once. If you want both children in one story, Hooray Heroes has a book for two. Which arrives faster, Gli Books or Hooray Heroes? Hooray Heroes says it makes and sends books within 3 business days, then offers tracked shipping of 4–7 days or paid 2-day and next-day options; its shipping page gives prices in US dollars. Ours takes 1–2 weeks from your order, printing included.
